State Goverment

The U.S. Constitution defines the roles of state governments. The structure of the state government resembles that of the federal government. The executive authority of the state is the governor. Like the present, the governor has veto power. In 1937, Nebraska changed to a single-house system to cut costs. Each state has its own court system, which includes trail courts, appellate courts, and a state supreme court. Most criminal codes and civil laws,such as a legal drinking age,are state law. Law for contracts, business charters, and marriage and divorce. Another thing is state government is to charter local governments. The municipalities-villages, toens, and cities- are outlined and defined in approved by the state.
